The Data Bulletin live

A live economics site that pulls U.S. jobs, prices, growth, energy, and crime figures straight from official sources the moment new numbers are released. Every chart names its exact series and links back to the source, so anyone can verify anything in one click.

Its Data Check section puts a politician's exact quote next to the official numbers and gives one of three findings: matches the data, needs context, or doesn't match the data. No hot takes. The word "lie" never appears.

Why I built The Data Bulletin

The real number is public, free, and released on a schedule. Almost nobody at the table has seen it. So I built a site that puts claims next to official data, and learned to code properly along the way.

About me

By day I'm the assessment specialist and data analyst for George Fox Digital, the online arm of George Fox University. I'm a one-person data team: executive dashboards, course evaluations, cost analyses, enrollment reporting, and every research question in between.

Before that I spent more than a decade working in higher education in the US and Cambodia. I've taught over 1,500 online classes, led faculty development, and once helped organize a graduation for 1,000 students with Cambodia's Prime Minister in attendance.

I like pipelines that check their own work, charts that link their sources, and plain-English explanations of both. Outside the day job I design English curricula and, occasionally, a board game.
